In praise of Larry Levrets New Chapter Round Pen Training.

A little over a month ago, I took my eight year old Paint gelding to Larry for many reasons.Besides bullying and pushing me around, I was afraid to ride alone on the trails, afraid to canter, and desperately needed help with slowing his trot that knocked the fillings out of my teeth. He tossed his head in the air constantly, had no manners, did whatever he wanted to do, and had no respect for me at all.

After three days he was following me like a trained dog... with no halter or lead rope! After a week I saddled him while he was ground tied! (This was a horse that would've run off and never looked back!) He was slowing down and collecting his trot! And best of all... he was respectful and completely focused on me, alert and waiting for my next Command. He absolutely was not the horse I brought a week earlier.

Three weeks with Larry and we went for a ride in the sand dunes. I have to admit, I was pretty scared. My horse was a bit excited, but I had complete control thanks to Larry teaching him the one-rein stop. We went through water, flushed out ducks and deer, and we even slid like "The Man From Snowy River" down steep sand dunes where I thought we would tumble head-over-heels. Larry rode ahead on his trusty Arabian mare and I know that gave my green horse the confidence he needed.

It's been about a month now, and yesterday we cantered for the first time! And we also went on our fourth trail ride alone... just he and I.

Finding Larry was the best thing for me and my horse, and since I have bought an unbroke five year old mare... and she is goin' to Larry next!!!
