To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing this letter in regard to Larry Leverts, Larry's New Chapter Round Pen Training. I first met Larry about two years ago when I was viewing a young filly for sale and I was impressed from the word go. The way she let him handle her was unforgettable. Fortunately, as beautiful as she was, my search took me down the road and six months later I purchased a "perfect fit", a young, two year old gelding by the name of Eddie. Through a round-about source the decision was made to send Eddie to Larry for the standard 90 days of training with the intention of establishing a self-confident, self-assured, steady trail mate.

From day one Larry set off on the right foot. With gentle, friendly hands Larry helped guide Eddie into a relaxed and comfortable environment that he not only could learn from but also experience Larry's knowledge first hand. Always asked to take part and never forced, Eddie was made to enjoy his surroundings while still remaining in control of his own spirit. (You may or may not know, but this is very important to an always suspicious three year old and his mom.) Teaching in a round pen gives Larry many advantages while keeping a controlled and safe environment. This allowed Eddie to focus on what is being asked of him and seeds an everlasting passion to learn. Yet at the same time Larry continuously builds a wonderful bond of trust between horse and human. Toward the end of the 90 days, this makes the transition from teacher-trainer/horse to owner-partner/horse a remarkable and memorable experience.

Since July of this year Eddie and I have embarked upon countless adventures ranging from manicured trails to shoulder-high thick, tree like brush. Down the hill and across the busy street always looking for new things to see and new places to go. Sometimes I have to remind myself that he is only a three year old although every once in awhile, he reminds me himself. Eddie is every bit a partner and then some. Horsemanship is definitely an acquired art, learned through time and experience. With a strong foundation to start with and continuous levels of education, I feel we gain more confidence with each and every ride. Larry helped me begin a wonderful friendship and to embark upon a long term goal. I want to give to my children what my parents gave to me; the life-long cherished memories of what it is like to have an animal as awesome as a horse. I owe a debt of gratitude to a wonderful horse and an even greater teacher.
